Adventures in Potty Training

I recently bought Thomas a new book:

It quickly became his new favorite, upon receipt of the book, he made me read it to him five times in a row. He has also developed a new habit of saying "butt" and laughing hysterically, even though the book calls that part a "bottom." Probably not helpful that I laughed hysterically the first time he said it. Probably not helpful that I exclaim, "Look at that cute butt!" every time Thomas is getting into the bath.

Anyway...

Just like the boy in the book, we've been sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting.

And, just like in the beginning of the book, nothing happens.

Just like in the book, all the excitement happens on the floor, once Thomas gets up from the potty. Sometimes next to the potty, sometimes on my bedroom floor, oh well. Good thing we have hardwood floors--makes for easy clean up.

But he is interested.

We had one successful session so far (pure luck, I caught him at a good time).

I have no expectations of training just yet, he's only 20 months, but he is interested, so we'll just keep sitting, and see what happens.
