Some long awaited photos from our recent trip to Hilton Head:
A day in the life. . .
"The sun has not caught me in bed in fifty years."
-Thomas Jefferson
Thomas seems to have taken inspiration in this quote from our favorite founding father, and was up by 6:30 every morning, you know, to outsmart the sun. In effort not to disturb everyone else's vacation slumber, we trekked out to the beach for a morning walk...EVERY MORNING.

T pictured in his sweet morning ride. Please note: no one else on the beach. Even though it wasn't my ideal situation, I seemed to have reaped the benefits of the early morning walks, since my nightly
Blue Bell ice cream binges did not skew any weigh-in results upon return from vacation.

After our walk, we still had some time to spare while the rest of the world slept, so we headed over to the on-site "market" where I got a half caff latte and Thomas enjoyed breakfast (Life cereal and strawberries packed nightly in anticipation of the morning's event). You can't tell from the photo, but our table always overlooked the ocean. I have to admit, I really did enjoy this "quiet" time with Thomas every morning.
Upon returning to our villa, we promptly changed into our suits and headed down to Piper and Thomas' private pool.

Sometimes we'd head down to the beach. . .

But then we'd eventually end up back at the pool.

Rough-housing with Ray Ray after bath.

Some other highlights from the trip:

As you can see, Thomas took it upon himself to help "open" the show.

The two divas. Ultimate diva on the right (umm, in case you couldn't tell just by looking at the photo).

Diva Piper could not let Thomas steal the show, so she sat on stage for a few songs, too (with shades on, of course).

Thomas "making a bed" on the balcony.

This is my sweet, good boy. Eating his dinner, completely unaffected by the heaping pile of oatmeal cookies in front of him.
And finally, a parting shot:

Bye bye, Hilton Head. See ya next year!
